Well last week was a bust :(. Didn't get a single deer all week. But I think I know why. It's a little hard to see but if you look right above the date and time you can make out what appears to be a fox. And it's rolling around in the scrape!!! It's easier to see if you download the pics and have a pic viewer that will let you use the wheel on your mouse to roll through the pics. In the first pic you can see it's rear end and tail. In the next two shot it is flatout rolling around in my scrape!!!! The pics are in black and white because this is my infrared camera that generally gives clearer night time pics. So I'm guessing the deer didn't think much of the predator smell in the scrape. We'll have to wait and see if we get anything next week. I may have to start another scrape.

Kind of a cool pic really. Too bad for you, but it looks like the fox was enjoying his/herself!
Nature 1; Man 0. :)
Farmchick - After thinking a little it dawned on me that is what Dawson likes to do...roll in anything that stinks to high heaven. I guess the fox is no different.
texwisgirl - Yeah, but we've only completed the 1st inning :).
I'm not having much luck on my mock scrapes either. I'm not going to give up however!
Oh, you must be so disappointed! But at least Mr. Fox got his stink on in royal fashion. Maybe you could start charging admission to your mock scrape areas. $1.00 per fox. It could work.
I added myself to follow your blog. You are more than welcome to visit mine and become a follower if you want to.
God Bless You

I agree -- these are cool pics and definitely a big laugh on behalf of the fox. I'm looking forward to the second inning.
Trey - Hang in there. Giving up isn't in my vocabulary either.
Nancy - Actually I'm fascinated with the fox rolling in the scrape. I've never seen or heard of anyone seeing that before. Be interesting to see if the fox comes back this week.
Ron. Thanks for stopping by. I'll check your blog out.
Canyon Girl - Thanks. I'll have to give the fox the 1st inning :).
It appears the fox likes it! haha!
I also have an interest in trail cameras. I'm located in SW Wisconsin where deer hunting is big. I've seen alot of action going on because the corn is just coming down. What's weather like over there? Any reasons for the deer to become lazy? Just added your blog, very nice. I like the black bear shots, feel free to check out mine
Happy camera trappin'

Zach - Thanks for stopping by. It's warm and dry here. My guess is that's got a lot to do with the lack of action.
