Buck

After church and lunch I hustled out to check the cameras before something they’re calling rain is supposed to start this afternoon. Yes, I missed my Sunday afternoon nap:(. It was pleasantly cool at last in the mid 60‘s. The deer must have liked it too because I saw more today while walking than I have in the last month. They were moving everywhere. Got some ready good pics that I’ll post over this week…even got some pics of a box turtle. Below is some of one of the larger bucks. They’d disappeared for a couple of weeks from my cameras. My farmer buddy had been seeing a couple of them but they must have gotten camera shy. You can see the velvet coming off his antlers.

Thanks texwisgirl. He is a nice one. This is the first one I've gotten showing the velvet coming off.

Boy-o-boy, seeing that buck makes me long for the woods! What great shots too. It's always nice to have an extra set of eyes in the woods to catch events like sheading of velvet, when the change colors and especially the rut!

Good lookin' buck! It's always exciting to see bucks in the trail cam photos as opposed to a bunch of does (which is often).

Kari, Rick, and heyBJK - I've been really pleased with the number of good bucks I've got on cameras this year. Now if we can keep the spotlighters from killing most of them we should have a good season.
