Pregnant Doe and Velvet Antlers

Pretty slow week at the camera traps last week. I guess most of the momma critters are having or tending to little ones right now. I'd hoped to get a few fawn pictures last week but I got very few deer at all. Below are a few pics of a very pregnant doe. She looks like one of the older does and is probably carrying twins. Also got a couple of shots of a young buck just starting to grow new antlers.

I've never seen such an obviously pregnant doe. Wow. Maybe she'll give birth on camera :) She certainly look ready to burst.

I do hope she comes back around with her babes.

What pretty shots, Joe! You're the sweetest hunter I know, taking pics of animals just because they're beautiful. Happy Memorial Day to you! xo

Ohhh...I feel like I could reach out and pet his velvety softness.

I'm a new GFC follower. I'm learning so much just looking at all these photos from A Rural Journal. I don't know much about taking pictures but I do know when I like what I see.

Have a great week.

Great captures :) Your deer look to be in so much better shape than ours around here. It's been a very hard winter on them.
