Bear

First I would like to say THANK YOU for everyone's kind words on the passing of Dawson. It's been a pretty strange and sad week around the house without him bee bopping around.

Got some daytime pics of a small bear at the mountain set this week. I'm sure the bears are looking far and wide for something to eat.

This guy does look a bit 'lean' and raggedy. Wish I could sleep all winter and lose weight! :)

(i know how quiet a house can be without a dog in it - when my old dog died, I lasted 3 days before i couldn't stand it anymore and we adopted another one. i missed that 'sigh' before falling asleep too much.)

A small bear is still a bear and it makes me glad I don't see them frequently!

Great shots, I heard there were bears north of us but I haven't seen any around by us. I remember seeing a couple during a trip to British Columbia, one practially walked right out in front of our car.

I must have missed your post about Dawson, Joe. I'm so very sorry.

Thank you for sharing your bear picture on my site today -- I venture it will be the only one we'll see! Great shot. :)

Well good to see he woke up. Does this mean we will finally have a spring?:)

Hi Joe,

I unfortunately know the feeling of a strange and sad time after a dog's passing from my past. We are thinking of you.

Your bear looks young and very hungry! Your camera trap seems to be set in a spot where animals linger naturally. I wish that I could find a spot like that!

Bears have been the theme for my week too. Today, I got photos of a big fat male marking a tree. He's so fat for not eating all winter...

Nice shots!

I'm still hoping for the day I get a random bear walking past one of my cams....they are very uncommon in this part of the state...

Makes me want to find him a lovely fish or something. Amazing how good the pictures are.

I think those bears are very, very hungry now...Maybe you should get yourself another dog buddy to keep those bears at bay when checking on your cameras now....?

I recently read about how dangerous these bears can be. Have you ever been in danger out in the wild?
