Antlers Still Hanging On

Still had one buck that had his antlers last week...one side anyway. I posted pics of the young eight pointer from Feb. 13th, 17th, and 27th. By the 27th he had lost one antler and I'm sure by now he has lost both since they generally drop off in a short period if not at the same time. I need to take a look over the field and power line and see if I can find them.

Also got a nice coyote last week. This is the first coyote I've gotten a picture of in about six months. This is the breeding season so I suspect they are on the prowl more than normal.

Some good shots here Joe. Hope that coyote doesn't run into that deer!

Really nice to see the deers and the coyote! I hope you find the antlers. Last fall I found one from a moose, it made my day :))

Isn't it neat to be able to see them loose their antlers and then even better to find them! Good Luck!

Ha! I don't think I have ever seen a deer with just one antler. Would be nice to find the antler and actually know where it came from : )

Congrats on the coyote pic, they are difficult to come by. Hope you find that antler.

Excellent pics (that one with the "Half-Rack" is great).

Ours are still hanging on to their antlers as well.

Even got a few pics of bucks sparring recently!

Nice pictures of the deer, you should find the antlers. It probably is nearby. The coyote has nice colour. We didn´t have any moose on our camera as we hoped. It was nearby a salt stone we put up to them but no moose was there in one week :-(

I always get a kick out of one antler captures. Reminds me of my boys losing a tooth...except this is much more noticeable:)

Nice pic of the coyote. We have way too many here! Poor buck!

Wow. That antler is really hanging on late. We see them dropping here as early as January during the late bow season.

Awesome Joe. B

Interesting blog with real nice action shots. We saw numerous coyotes in Scottdale chasing jack rabbits on a golf course early in the morning. They're much more secretive here in Minnesota. :)

Wow, losing antlers already. Your deer are way ahead of ours.

That is a healthy looking coyote! I saw one once in our woods when I was out running.

Thanks for chiming in on my post today - I was hoping I might hear from someone who hunts as to whether or not they felt it was creepy.

Ours drop around the first of February but they are still hanging on!! I guess this crazy winter has their pattern screwed up too
