Young Bucks and More Whiteout

Been getting some pics of a few young bucks in the Little Woods set but I’m also fighting a losing battle with the whiteout problem. I’ve gotten one really nice buck on camera twice but each time the pics were badly washed out. The whiteout problem persists between 6:30 and 8:30 each morning even though I’ve moved the camera three times. I think I’m going to move the Covert camera here to see if it handles the shade/sunlight problem better. I’ve got a really busy next couple of weeks coming up so I’m having a problem finding time to do the move. Below are some pics of a young eight point checking out the mineral block and one of the washed out big buck. The big buck looks to be at least a ten point.

holy crap! i think the big buck is telling you, "Joe, don't worry about me. Come hunting season, I'll just be a figment of your imagination..." :)

Nice bucks, especially that last one! I know the frustration with the whiteout. Have you tried putting something behind the cam to make it tilt down a little? Can't think of anything else that could help reduce it.

Frustrating, I'm sure ... still, I love what you capture even if it's ghostly!

Still awesome, even with the whiteout. Trophy there.

That last pic reminds me of the Harry Potter Prisoner of Azkaban movie and his stag patronus: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Patronus_Charm Different species, though ;)

I'm so glad you're a photographic hunter, Joe. It's a nice relief from the hunting, butchering, wrapping and freezing I grew up with. Your appreciation for wildlife is wonderful and keeps me coming back to see what's recently landed in your "net". :)
Cheers!

It's the time of year for young bucks! I've been getting lots of them too. Great photos!

My Bushnell has the same problem with washed out images and dealing with shade/sun. I haven't solved it so I have no good suggestions. It persists no matter which way I point the cam.

I don't know the answer either, but I have the problem a lot too--especially with a 2009 Scoutguard and a Wildview, but all of them do it for me at times. Positioning is part of the answer, but there seems to me more to it.
