Flirtin' With Disaster

I was going through the pics from the mountain pond today and I kept getting some of  a squirrel running and sitting on the log in front of the camera. And I kept thinking about the Molly Hatchet song "Flirtin with Disaster". Then BAM there it was sitting in the middle of the log.....a Red Tail Hawk. Those of you that follow the blog remember what happened to a Scamper Rat a while back. It became the Hawk's lunch. I don't know if the Hawk missed it's prey this time, just stopped in for a look around, or if it came for a drink. I just thought it was funny I would be thinking about the song and the Hawk would appear. Maybe I'm psychic ;). Now that's scary. LOL!

What a perfect title. Could only be better if the shots were moments apart instead of a day :)

Oh my gosh! That squirrel is as big as the hawk. I do hope he got away. I think the hawk just wanted to get in the photo.

Only the hawk and squirrel know what happened. And maybe the little doe in the background, but her lips are probably sealed. Great great pictures.

Must be relaxing just to be able to sit in the woods for a while, also may be a little creepy as well. Richard

Just found your blog and I am loving these trail pics! How do you get these great shots... safely? The ones of the bears look dangerous!

What great wildlife photos! You make me want to get one of those cameras to see what's stalking around our place.
