Got some infrared pics of this unusual buck at the mountain pond last week. The palmated antlers is a first for me in this area and none of my buddies recall ever seeing one either. Judging from the body size I'm guessing this is a 2 1/2 or 3 1/2 year old buck. I'd love to get some color shots of him.

Hi Y'all,
Never seen a buck with antlers like that. Wonder if he is a mutation or got crossed with a northern species, moose or something.
Hope you can get a color shot.
Y'all come by now,

I'm with browndog...deep inside that deer is a moose just dying to get all Bullwinkle. Great shots, Joe!
Makes one wonder what else might be out there. I like this so much better than hunting.
Interesting deer. Would love to see one of those around here. Can't help but wonder what is in his DNA!
just never know what you're gonna get here, joe! :)
That's some really heavy palmation going on there. Very rare.
He's a beauty Joe!!! Hope he forever evades the hunters!
I would love to shoot one of those. My Grandfather had one mounted when I was a kid. Always loved that deer!
An interesting rack, to be sure!
Great catch Joe!
Wow, that's crazy! Great captures.
Now how cool is that!?!
Awesome, awesome buck Joe. Thanks for sharing him all with us!
Very interesting animal Joe, I think you captured a rarity. It's always fun when you get something unexpected.
Very cool! Maybe his mom was a moose :)
I hope that you get those color photos.
These photos are SIMPLY amazing! Is it possible it is a cross of different deer? It is SO unique.
That is one beautiful set of antlers.
Wow.
Wow! Now that's a buck. I was out yesterday looking for some antlered deer, but saw doe and fawns instead. In the spring I was looking for doe and fawns and found buck (with emeging antlers). go figure :/
Oh ya! Those antlers almost look like a moose. Great pictures. A daytime pic would be a real bonus. Good luck to you Joe.
