The bears seemed to enjoy walking the log at the mountain pond set last week. First a cub tried out it's tight rope walking skills and then two bigger bears decided it would be fun the walk the log. Please excuse the slight blur on the pics. Another bear just had to stick it's muddy nose on the camera lens before these pics were taken.

Twin Cubs
I didn't want to leave out the twins this week as they visited the mountain pond a couple of times also. In the first set it looks like the one cub's fur is still wet from taking a dip in the pond. The last two pics show why I have all of my cameras in security boxes and occasionally have smudges on my camera lens. I learned early on in my camera trapping hobby that bears have a wild fascination for cameras and can't resist checking them out up close and personal.

Triplet Cubs
Momma bear and the triplets visited two camera sets last week. One set out on the farm and the other at the mountain pond. The mountain pond set is a little hazy due to an earlier visitor sticking it's nose on the camera lens. I'll be posting those later this week. The pond sees a lot of action during the hot weather. The bears like to take a dip to cool off.

Cubs
I'm afraid something may have happened to one of the triplets. I got this set of pics last week from my IR camera so the pics come out in black and white. The flash sensitivity is bad on this camera and it uses the infrared for most of the daytime pics as well as the night ones. Momma also had to come up and stick her nose right on the camera lens so only the first pic is clear. But I'm pretty sure this is the sow that had the triplets. I hope I'm wrong and there are two sows that look a lot alike. Another thing you'll notice is that these cubs are staying very close to momma's side.

More Cub Pics
I've been pretty much AWOL this past week from blogland :(. We finally had a week without rain and I was on the go about 25 hours a day trying to catch up on all the things I'd hope to get done in May. Made a dent in the projects but still have a bunch to do.
I did have a much better camera trapping week anyway. The momma and three cubs did move out onto the farm woodlot and I got some good pics of them out there. Also got a few other assorted critters I'll try to get posted later this week.

Three Cubs
My mountain set is still producing great shots with a mommy and three small cubs passing through last week. Hopefully these four will hang around the farm all summer like the sow and twins did two summers ago. Those three showed up at about every camera trap I set that summer. I was beginning to get the feeling they were stalking me ;). The Does should be having fawns right now so hopefully we get some fawn pics the next couple of weeks also.

Sow and Cubs
Got these pics last summer. The cubs were generally either eating or fighting....typical kids:).
These three also apparently loved to have their pictures taken. I've got a bunch of them at three different locations.

Looks like mamma heard the camera.
Note mamma bear in the background scratching her back on the tree.
