My wife was hanging up clothes yesterday around noon and she noticed something out of the corner of her eye. There was a bear cub going up on our porch. We had been seeing it around in the fields near the house the past couple of days. It was weaned by it's mother this spring and is a little confused making it on it's own right now. She said after it explored the porch it laid down under a shrub beside the porch for two hours and slept complete with snoring. It finally wandered off after it's nap. Hopefully it will head back into the mountain and stay away from the houses.

Fun to see....in your photos! Goodness, I wouldn't want this on my porch!
Oh my! Not sure I would have taken that picture! I would have been way too nervous.
Wow! I would have been terrified!
The way people feel about Australia's venomous snakes, spiders and jellyfish, plus man-eating sharks, is how I feel about North America's bears! And you have them on your couch!!!
Great pictures - hopefully the little guy will figure things out and head to the woods ~ I like the cat looking around the edge :)

Looks like the cub just wanted to take a nap on your porch. :)
alright, dear joe, you've been absent for a year. i'm hoping all is well with you, your wife, your daughter (i think that's right), your job... and i hope by now you've got yourself another dog, too. ;)
just wanted to say hi and say i refuse to take your blog out of my reading list as it was the first blog i followed back after you found me. :)
be safe. be well. be happy!
Hi Theresa,
Everyone is doing well. Just been on the road a lot the end of last year and this year and taking a break from the blog. I told my boss last week the traveling was going to stop. I'm tired of it and he agreed to look at other options. I've got a little under 6 years until I'm going to retire and I'm not spending them on the road half the year. But you never know now a days when your number is up and the company decides you're not worth keeping around any longer so I may be retiring sooner. LOL!
Actually I pulled my cameras in December and haven't had a chance to put them back out. And you must be psychic. I was just talking to my wife last weekend that I needed to get them back out. I'm down to three cameras and I'm debating on which brand to buy. I've been really disappointed with the new cameras I've brought. I still have an 8 year old Moultrie that takes better pics than the new ones :(. Still no dog. Just haven't had time to break a new one in. Hope all is well with you and I'm going to get the blog going again. Thanks so much for emailing :)!! Joe
Lovely bear.. :-)))
