Twins Passing Through

Momma and the twin cubs strolling past the camera. Boy, they have really grown the last couple of months.

Losing Velvet

The bucks in my area are rapidly losing the velvet that has nourished their antlers all summer. It looks like this young buck has just lost his in the last 24 hours. The red on his antlers is blood left from the velvet shedding. The antlers will now harden as the bucks start marking their territory and fighting to determine who the dominate bucks are.

Eight Pointer

I had almost given up on this location. I've had the camera there for three weeks and had only gotten a couple of small bucks on the camera. So I was really please with this nice eight pointer. I especially like the line across his face. I'm not sure if that is a scar or just a natural mark.

The fawns are really getting big but they're still nursing off of momma. The does should be weaning them before long.

Week from Hell

Some of you may have noticed I have been AWOL this week. Or maybe not :(. LOL!! Last Thursday I was given the unpleasant task at work of closing another plant and moving any of their best equipment out to other divisions. This is the second time I've had to do this and it's not gotten any better the second time around. Hopefully the unemployed workers will be able to find other jobs. The plant we're closing is in Pennsylvania right in the middle of all the flooding. So to say I've had the week from hell is an understatement. We finally worked our way home yesterday evening detouring, detouring, and detouring some more until we finally got out of the flooded area. It took us five hours just to get out of Pennsylvania....The whole trip normally only takes 4.5 hours total.

But it gets better. I left work early today to catch up on my mowing. I got back to the hunting cabin early enough that I could get it mowed just before it got dark. As I was leaving at dusk I stopped to close the gate and stepped out of my truck. As I did I noticed something move right under my feet. Always being the observant one I figured it was a snake. It turned out to not just be any snake but a Copperhead. Fortunately for me, unfortunately for the snake the front tire had run over it's head or I'm pretty sure I would be at the hospital right now instead of making this post. So no I've not had a good week.

Hopefully I can make this post without any major calamities occurring. The first four pics are from a camera one of my buddies give me that had the display fail so the time, date , and location are not correct but it still takes pics. The last two are from the Reveal camera that I moved to my problem area. It appeared to have solved the white out problem. None of the pics I've gotten from it the last two weeks have had a whiteout problem.

Got a busy day tomorrow so I hopefully can get to check on all of my favorite blogs Sunday. Hope all of you have had a better week than me. Later :).
